Pierre Hakkesteegt

Pierre Hakkesteegt is an accomplished professional in the aquaculture and microalgae sectors, currently serving as Site Supervisor at Photanol since May 2020, where operations at a demonstration plant are optimized for cyanobacteria growth to enhance CO2 conversion. Prior experience includes project development at Omega Green B.V. focused on scaling algae production, and overseeing daily operations at Aquacultuur Noord as Assistant Farmer. With a strong foundation in aquatic farming, Hakkesteegt has engaged in various research roles, including work on microalgae legislation and harvesting techniques. Educational qualifications include an MSc in Aquaculture & Fisheries from Wageningen University & Research and a BSc in Marine Biology from the University of Groningen.
