Michael Ybarra

Michael Ybarra, MD has a comprehensive work experience in various healthcare-related roles. Michael has served as the Chief Medical Officer at PhRMA, overseeing strategic partnerships and workplace health and safety issues. Prior to that, they held the position of Vice President, Medical Affairs and Strategic Alliances at PhRMA, managing third-party engagement on federal priority issues. Michael also served as the Deputy Vice President, Advocacy and Strategic Alliances, leading third-party engagement with the healthcare provider community. Additionally, they have experience as the Senior Director of Alliance Development at PhRMA, where they managed third-party engagement and coalition building initiatives. Dr. Ybarra has also worked at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital as an Attending Physician and Fellowship Director, where they provided clinical care and education to medical students and residents. Michael held the role of Chair of the Government and National Affairs Committee at the American Academy of Emergency Medicine and has served in various positions at Georgetown University School of Medicine and MedStar Washington Hospital Center. Dr. Ybarra has a strong background in healthcare policy, strategic partnerships, and medical education.

Michael Ybarra, MD attended Georgetown University School of Medicine from 2004 to 2008, where they earned their MD degree in Medicine. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and History from Stanford University, graduating in 2004. Currently, they have an additional certification from the American Board of Emergency Medicine.
