Andrew Soltan

VP of Engineering at Phunware

With over 25 years of software development experience, Andrew brings strong technical leadership to the Phunware Engineering team. Initially beginning his career in Game Development, he quickly fell in love with mobile app development upon launch of the App Store.

Since then, Andrew has led Engineering teams to deliver apps across iOS, Android, tvOS, Fire OS, and tvOS for some of the world’s largest brands.

Andrew joined Phunware in 2013 building mobile application portfolios for video streaming services like NBC Sports, FOX NOW, The CW, Nat Geo TV, FXNOW, FOX Sports, and Golf Channel. Andrew and his team have delivered experiences for major live events such as FIFA World Cup, Winter Olympics, NFL Playoffs, and the World Series.

He enjoys working in creative, team-oriented environments and for this reason, calls Phunware his home. He says “The amazingly talented people at Phunware paired with a culture of ‘phun’ cannot be found anywhere else. I’ve worked with this team on everything from an Augmented Reality app for the Dallas Cowboys to an election app for the President of the United States. It doesn’t get any better than that.”

Today, Andrew leads teams that build software products and solutions for Phunware’s MaaS platform, utilized by businesses across the globe.

Most recently, Andrew’s team has deployed the PhunWallet mobile app, an innovative cryptocurrency wallet app, allowing consumers to engage directly with brands, earn PhunToken, and take control of their data.

Andrew holds a B.S. in Computer Science from California State University, Fullerton, where he graduated Cum Laude.
