Alisha Holloway

Chief Scientific Officer at Phylos

Alisha Holloway is the CSO at Phylos. Alisha has over ten years of experience in bioinformatics and computational genomics. Alisha is a highly skilled biostatistician, bioinformatician, and software engineer.

Alisha has a passion for leveraging comparative genomics to understand the evolution of lineage-specific traits. Alisha has investigated transcriptional dynamics in developing hearts across six vertebrates to classify gene networks important for the evolution of heart morphology and to identify new candidate genes for congenital heart disease.

As an informatics leader at the NHLBI Bench to Bassinet Program, Alisha supervised staff to develop an automated analysis pipeline for hundreds of RNA-seq and ChIP-seq data sets generated by the Bench to Bassinet Consortium. Alisha also led the development of user-friendly, web-based tools – e.g., OrthoRetriever translates gene IDs between annotation databases and between species.

Alisha Holloway has a PhD in Evolution, Ecology, and Behavior from The University of Texas at Austin. Alisha also has an MS in Biology from Colorado State University and a BS in Zoology from the University of Oklahoma.

Alisha Holloway works with Dylan Anderson - CFO, Julie Karassik - VP, Business Operations, and Damon Hess - VP, Sales. Their manager is Ralph Risch, Chief Executive Officer.
