Allan Clements

Allan Clements has a diverse range of work experience. Allan is currently working at Phylum as the Data Engineering Team Lead since February 2021. Prior to this, they were the Business Owner of Fortunatus, LLC from January 2020 to December 2021.

Before their business venture, Allan worked at Sonatype from November 2017 to February 2021. Allan held the position of Tech Lead & Interview Committee and played a crucial role in designing and implementing a new storage solution. Their work resulted in a significant improvement in security data analysis time, enabling faster security vulnerability notification to customers. Allan also developed an in-house tool called "Liquibase for HBase" to automate HBase table creation and configuration, contributing to integration-based testing and schema updates.

From January 2015 to November 2017, Allan worked as a Software Developer at Tradebot. Allan was responsible for enhancing the real-time trading statistics pipeline, improving its code clarity and performance. Allan implemented various optimizations that reduced latency, increased data processing speed, and enhanced the application's overall performance.

Allan gained valuable experience as an Extreme Blue Intern at IBM from May 2014 to August 2014. During this time, they worked on a Cognitive Cloud team and contributed to two projects, including a patented technology.

As a Remote Software Engineering Intern at Perceptive Software from October 2013 to May 2014, Allan developed a code performance profiler for plugins to the Perceptive Integration Framework. This automated profiler collected performance measurements for all plugins without requiring additional code.

Prior to this, from June 2013 to August 2013, Allan worked as an R&D Software Engineering Intern at Perceptive Software. Allan collaborated with software engineers on the Integrated Product Architecture (IPA) team and contributed to the development of the Perceptive Integration Framework (PIF).

Allan also gained practical experience as an Enterprise Technical Support co-op at ADTRAN from January 2013 to May 2013. In this role, they independently deployed and troubleshot enterprise-level computer networks, occasionally working with ISPs and confidently navigating customer networks.
