Michael D. Detten has a diverse work experience in the field of physical therapy and sports medicine. Michael D. is currently the Managing Partner & Clinic Director at Physical Therapy Central, where they oversee the operations of the clinic. Michael D. also served as the Clinic Director - Southwest Oklahoma City at the same organization. Prior to joining Physical Therapy Central, Michael worked as a Sports Doctor of Physical Therapy at Michael Johnson Performance and as a Clinical Orthopedic Lab Instructor/Assistant at the University of Oklahoma. Michael D. has also worked as a Staff Physical Therapist at Providence Saint John's Health Center, a Team Physical Therapist at Pepperdine University, and a Doctor of Physical Therapy Sports Resident at the University of Southern California. Michael D. Detten DPT, MPH obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Zoology/BioMedical Sciences from the University of Oklahoma in 2009. From 2004 to 2005, they completed undergraduate prerequisite coursework at Northern Oklahoma College. Michael D. then pursued a Master of Public Health degree in Health Administration and Policy from the University of Oklahoma from 2011 to 2017. In 2012, they started their Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program at the University of Oklahoma and University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, completing it in 2015. Additionally, in 2015 to 2016, they participated in the Sports Medicine Residency Program at the University of Southern California, where they earned their Doctor of Physical Therapy degree. Michael also holds certifications as an Emergency Responder Certified from the American Red Cross since June 2014 and as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist from the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) since December 2011.
