Greg Kovacs is a distinguished professional with extensive experience in both the academic and medical technology sectors. Currently serving as a Happy Science Nerd at "I'm Taking A Break" since September 2024, Kovacs co-founded PhysioWave, Inc. in January 2005, focusing on noninvasive cardiovascular risk assessment. Kovacs has held significant academic positions, including Professor (Emeritus) of Electrical Engineering and by Courtesy, Medicine at Stanford University since 1991. Additional leadership roles include Chief Medical Officer at Triple Ring Technologies, co-founder of Modum Health, Chief Technology Officer at SRI International, co-founder of MalibuIQ, and key positions at DARPA and Cepheid. Kovacs holds an MD from Stanford University School of Medicine and a PhD in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University School of Engineering, among other degrees.
