Damien Cabanes

Damien Cabanes currently holds the position of Chef de Projet R&D Waters at Laboratoire Phytocontrol since April 2019, managing a team focused on R&D projects related to water analysis, specifically organic contaminants. Prior experience includes serving as an Ingénieur R&D Waters at the same organization, where analytical methods for metals, nanoparticles, microplastics, and organic compounds were developed and validated. Damien Cabanes completed a postdoctoral research position and PhD in Environmental Sciences at the University of Geneva, with a focus on the impact of natural organic matter on the oceanic iron cycle, and participated in two oceanographic expeditions in Antarctica. Earlier roles involved research on metallic contamination at IFREMER and method development for copper analysis at Université de Bretagne Occidentale. Educational credentials include a Master's degree in Analytical Chemistry and Instrumentation from Université Paul Sabatier Toulouse III and a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry and Biochemistry from Université de Toulon.
