Ingo Appelhagen

Ingo Appelhagen is a scientist at Phyton Biotech since March 2019, specializing in metabolic engineering and the development of plant cell cultures for the large-scale production of natural colors. Prior to this role, Appelhagen served as a Post Doctoral Scientist at the John Innes Centre from May 2014 to February 2019, focusing on similar areas of research. Appelhagen also worked as a Post Doctoral Scientist at Bielefeld University from October 2011 to April 2014, conducting a research project on tannins, their biosynthesis, transport, and storage. Appelhagen holds a Doctor of Natural Sciences in Molecular Biology and Plant Genetics, as well as a Diploma in Molecular Biology, both from Bielefeld University, achieved between 2001 and 2011.
