Head Of Design Technologies at Piaggio Aerospace

Michele Mancini is an experienced aerospace engineer with a strong background in design technologies and project management. Currently serving as Head of Design Technologies and New Concept Readiness Manager at Piaggio Aerospace since November 2019, Michele is responsible for overseeing the initiation of new projects, including requirements capture, system engineering, and multidisciplinary scheduling. Concurrently, Michele has held roles at Piaggio Aero Industries since 2009, including Chief Project Engineer for the unmanned aerial vehicle HammerHead CPE and Aerodynamics Engineer, focusing on transonic wing design and aerodynamic optimization through CFD simulation. Prior experience includes serving as a CFD analyst at the University of Rome "La Sapienza," specializing in thermo fluid dynamic computations for aerospace applications. Michele holds a Master’s degree in Aeronautical Engineering and a Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering from Sapienza Università di Roma, along with a professional continuing education course in Space Transportation Systems.
