From 2020 to the present, Ward has been the Director of Gas Sales & Marketing at Picarro, Inc. Their role involves driving growth and enhancing client engagement efforts for the company's Gas Business related to its Energy sector offerings. This includes supporting sales and business development operations for natural gas utilities, midstream, transmission, and storage. Douglas focuses on market competitiveness and distribution for Picarro's advanced gas asset management solutions, advanced leak detection, and emissions quantification and network emissions reporting.

Prior to their current position, Ward worked at Chesapeake Utilities Corporation from 2015 to 2020 as the Vice President and Business Unit Leader of Aspire Energy. Due to a corporate reorganization effort, their position was eliminated, and Ward separated from the company in March 2020.

From 2009 to 2015, Ward was the Vice President of EnSiteUSA, Inc. Their primary responsibilities included leading efforts to grow revenues and pursuing and securing major projects at an engineering design consulting firm serving the natural gas energy industry. Douglas was responsible for the departments of engineering, project management, and land services.

Before joining EnSiteUSA, Ward held various roles at CenterPoint Energy from 1988 to 2009. Douglas served as the Region Manager of Gas Operations for the Texas Coast Region from 2003 to 2009. In this position, they were responsible for all activities within the region, including labor negotiations, operations, construction, customer service, and budgeting. Prior to this role, Ward held positions as the Manager of Contractor & Engineering Support and Manager of Gas Engineering Design, among others.

Douglas Ward's education history includes a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Industrial Engineering from Louisiana Tech University and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Business Administration from the University of Houston-Victoria. In addition to their degrees, they obtained a certification as a Professional Engineer (PE) from the Louisiana Professional Engineering and Land Surveying Board (LAPELS) in February 1995.
