Xiubo Zhang

Xiubo Zhang has a diverse work experience, starting in 2010 as a Java EE Developer & IT Support at the World Travel Centre, where they designed and implemented an in-house back-office information system. Later, from 2011 to 2016, they worked as a Ph.D. Student and then as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Trinity College Dublin, focusing on the use of NLP and machine learning techniques in analyzing financial news and social media for enhanced emergency management.

From 2017 to 2018, Xiubo held a role as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Trinity College Dublin, where they led the technical aspects of a research project, developing machine-learning-based solutions for emergency managers. Xiubo also worked closely with industrial partners to gather user requirements and facilitate system integrations.

Moving forward, Xiubo joined Corvil in 2018 as a Data Scientist. Xiubo stayed with the company until 2020, when they transitioned to Pico as a Senior Data Scientist and VP.

Xiubo Zhang holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Computer Science from Trinity College Dublin, earned from 2011 to 2016. Prior to that, they completed a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science at Technological University Dublin from 2008 to 2010. Before their time in Dublin, Xiubo Zhang studied Computer Science as a Bachelor's student at Harbin Institute of Technology from 2006 to 2008. In addition to their academic achievements, Zhang has obtained various certifications in the field of machine learning and artificial intelligence from institutes such as Udacity, Google, and Coursera. Some of these certifications include "AI for Trading" from Udacity and "Professional Machine Learning Engineer" from Google.
