Chris Purves is the current Chief Technical Officer at Picomole. Prior to joining Picomole, Chris served as the Vice President of Product Development at Picomole Instruments from October 2007 to October 2013. In this role, Chris was responsible for developing protocols for collecting exhaled breath onto sorbent material using an in-house developed automated breath sampler. Chris also wrote the control algorithm for cavity mode-locking and other software necessary to automate cavity ring-down spectroscopy. Additionally, Chris designed an automated alveolar breath sampler and was responsible for Picomole's IT infrastructure, including network security, establishing a VPN, secure data backup, and creating a database for breath measurement data.
Before joining Picomole Instruments, Chris Purves served as the Director of Operations at Dowslake Microsystems from July 2001 to May 2006. In this role, they were responsible for all aspects of the company's operations, including manufacturing, product development, and customer service.
Chris Purves began their career as a Process Development Scientist at Advanced Integrated Microsystems in August 2006. In this role, they were responsible for developing new processes and improving existing ones.
Chris Purves has a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Physics from the University of Alberta. Chris is a Professional Engineer, certified by Engineers & Geoscientists New Brunswick and The Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA).
