Ning Xuan has a wide range of work experience in the technology and medical fields. They started their career as an Undergraduate Student Research Assistant at Stony Brook University in 2011. In 2012, they worked as a Research Assistant at the National Institutes of Health, where they focused on using high-frequency optical coherence tomography to detect and quantify physiological changes in the brain vascular vessel of mice. They also developed algorithms for image processing and quantification using Matlab.
In 2013, Ning Xuan held two consecutive Research Assistant positions. Firstly, they worked at the Heffner Biomedical Imaging Laboratory, where they focused on research related to medical imaging. Later, they joined the G.H. Sergievsky Center and Taub Institute, where they gained experience as a Research Assistant.
From 2014 to the present, Ning Xuan has been employed at Radlink, Inc. as a Senior Software Engineer. In this role, they implemented machine learning techniques across various modalities of medical images and successfully launched products for segmentation, landmark detection, and transformation of CT, MRI, X-ray, and fluoroscopy images to the market. They collaborated with the CTO and surgeons' advisory board to develop a C++/MATLAB computer vision API for medical images from scratch. Additionally, they worked closely with surgeons to create automation applications based on deep learning, resulting in increased operating room efficiency and accuracy.
In 2023, Ning Xuan is expected to start a new role as a Senior Data Scientist at PictorLabs Inc.
Ning Xuan completed a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) degree in Biomedical Engineering from Stony Brook University (SUNY) from 2008 to 2012. Following that, Ning pursued a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering from Columbia University in 2012 and 2013. Apart from formal education, Ning obtained various certifications related to Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the field of medicine. The certifications include "AI For Medical Treatment," "AI for Medicine Specialization," "AI for Medical Diagnosis," and "AI for Medical Prognosis," all obtained from Coursera in 2021. Additionally, Ning also obtained certifications in various aspects of neural networks, deep learning, and machine learning from Coursera in 2018.
