Rei Ishinabe

Head of Customer Success and Operations, Japan at Pie Systems

Rei Ishinabe has a diverse work experience starting from 1997. They began their career as a Travel Consultant at JTB, where they provided business travel arrangement services for multinational clients. They then became an Account Manager, managing clients such as Merrill Lynch and IBM. In 2000, Rei joined JTB-CWT Business Travel Solutions as a Team Leader, overseeing training and process improvement. They later joined Expedia, where they held various roles including Operations Manager for Expedia Japan and Brand Operations Manager for Hotels.com Asia & Pacific. At AirAsiaExpedia, Rei served as a Senior Customer Experience & Operation Project Manager, focusing on customer satisfaction and product launches. Later, at Square, they joined as one of the first employees in Japan and launched and led the customer support team. After taking a career break to achieve personal goals, including climbing El Capitan, Rei joined a Japanese company called ベンチャーパブリック and served as the Head of BTM unit. Most recently, they joined Pie Systems as the Head of Customer Success and Operations in Japan.

Rei Ishinabe completed a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Tourism at Rikkyo University from 1993 to 1997. In August 1996, they obtained a Certified Travel Supervisor License. In 2011, they pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Business Administration and Management, General at Bond University, which was completed in 2015. Rei then expanded their skill set by obtaining a Full-Stack Web Developer certification from Le Wagon in 2019.
