Sami Elamo has extensive work experience in the medical field as an orthopaedic surgeon. Sami has held roles in various hospitals and healthcare organizations, including Pihlajalinna Sairaala, Satakunnan sairaanhoitopiiri, Varsinais-Suomen sairaanhoitopiiri, and Helsingin ja Uudenmaan sairaanhoitopiiri (HUS). In addition to their clinical work, Sami has also served as a Coordinator at the University of Turku and a Healthpreneur at Aalto University School of Science and Technology. Sami has a background in research and innovation, having been a Biodesign Finland Fellow at HUS and involved in the field of biodesign. Sami also has experience working as a Clinician at CGI. Overall, their expertise lies in orthopaedic surgery and healthcare management.
Sami Elamo completed a Licentiate of Medicine (M.D.) degree from the University of Turku in 2007, specializing in orthopaedics and traumatology in 2015. Additionally, they obtained a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Industrial Engineering from Tampere University of Technology from 1998 to 2010. Sami also spent six months as an exchange student at RMIT University, focusing on Life Sciences. In 2017, they became a Biodesign Finland 2017 Fellow at Aalto University.
