Cameron Klapwyk has a diverse work experience. In 2019, they were appointed as Director of Key and Strategic Accounts, Project Implementation Lead and Director of Customer Experience at PiinPoint. Prior to this, they were a Refugee Program Associate at World Renew from 2016 to 2019, where they provided refugee settlement training and acted as a communications coordinator. From 2015 to 2016, they were a Project Funding Coordinator at REEP Green Solutions, where they developed and implemented a new strategy for aligning program development with funding opportunities. From 2013 to 2015, they were the Communications and Marketing Manager at Prison Fellowship Canada, where they were the marketing and communications strategy lead and was responsible for increasing donation revenues by 120%. From 2012 to 2013, they were a Settlement Counsellor at Romero House, where they researched and developed a new donor/recipient connection strategy and provided extensive background research into the status of the Roma in Europe for several refugee cases. Cameron was also a Communications Assistant at the Christian Reformed Centre for Public Dialogue from 2012 to 2013, where they researched Canadian Indigenous history, reconciliation in theory and practice, and community engagement strategy, and designed an interactive curriculum promoting reconciliation between non-Indigenous Canadians and their Indigenous neighbours. Finally, from 2010 to 2012, they were a Global Encounters Educational Animator at TakingITGlobal, where they collaborated with the Centre for Global Education in Edmonton to develop curriculum relevant to high school classes around the world, and developed a network of mentorship between university students involved in various areas of international development and high school students passionate about global issues.
Cameron Klapwyk obtained a Master of Arts (MA) in History and International Development from the University of Guelph in 2012. In 2015, they obtained a Post-Graduate Certificate in Career Development Practitioner from Conestoga College. From 2004 to 2009, they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in History from the University of Guelph. Between 2014 and 2016, they took an Introduction to Web Art and Design course at OCAD University. Additionally, they obtained a Mental Health First Aid - Basic certification from the Mental Health Commission of Canada in September 2016.
