Project Engineer at Pilbara Minerals Limited

Sam Neylan has a diverse work experience in engineering roles. In 2010, they worked as a Mechanical Design Engineer at Afflatus Engineering Design, where they focused on design, optimization, and manufacturing of structural and mechanical work scopes. Sam utilized Solidworks 3D modeling for design and flow & stress simulations.

From 2011 to 2012, Sam worked at Clough as a Mechanical Implementation Engineer, overseeing offshore maintenance and shutdown campaigns for the Bayu Undan LNG facility and FSO vessel. Sam then transitioned to the role of Rotating Equipment Engineer, where they developed Pre-FEED deliverables for a natural gas liquefaction train project for BP in Indonesia.

In 2013, Sam worked as a Mechanical/Piping Engineer at Clough, before taking on the role of Mechanical Field Engineer (FIFO) in 2014. Sam concluded their time at Clough as a Mechanical Package Engineer in 2015.

From 2015 to 2021, Sam worked at Nectar Group Limited as a Marine Project Engineer, managing contractual obligations and technical compliance for the construction and commissioning of a bulk materials shipping terminal. Sam also managed bulk handling machinery, equipment, and software throughout the project.

Currently, Sam is employed as a Project Engineer at Pilbara Minerals Limited, where they provide engineering support and package management for the design, procurement, construction, and commissioning of a lithium-tantalum mining and processing improvement project.

Sam Neylan CEng EA completed a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering at Curtin University from 2007 to 2010. In September 2019, Sam obtained a certification in Chartership CEng IMechE from the institution IMechE.
