Akshay Kalia

Akshay Kalia started their work experience in 2011 as an Associate Technology L1 at SapientNitro, where they redesigned and developed websites for financial sector clients and managed the build process for projects. Akshay was awarded for consistent outstanding performance.

In 2014, they became an Associate Technology L2 at SapientNitro and continued to contribute to website redesign and development. Akshay also proposed and automated the build process using Shell Scripting.

In 2016, Akshay worked as a Software Development Intern at Fujitsu Network Communications, where they created a utility for Simulated Performance Data Randomization and automated steps to connect to servers and dockers, reducing the time required for manual uploads.

Later in 2016, they worked as a Grader at New York University.

Since 2017, Akshay has been working as the Director of Engineering at Pillar Technologies, Inc. Their responsibilities include designing and implementing frameworks for collecting IoT sensor data, managing and leading a team of engineers, and developing new functionalities and fixing bugs in the codebase. Akshay has been involved in various aspects of the company's operations, from processes and culture to internal software and website design.

Akshay Kalia completed their Bachelor of Engineering degree in Computer Engineering from Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology, which they attended from 2007 to 2011. After that, they pursued their Master of Science (M.S.) in Computer Science at New York University, studying from 2015 to 2017.
