Luisa Escalante is an accomplished professional with diverse experience in education and engineering. Currently serving as an Engineer at Pilsen Wellness Center, Inc. since December 2022, Luisa contributes to a not-for-profit organization focused on treatment and recovery for Latino communities in Chicago. Additionally, since January 2023, Luisa has been a Math Teacher at Latino Youth High School, catering to the educational needs of youth in the Chicago area. Prior experience includes significant roles at Tecnológico de Monterrey, where Luisa was the Director of the Department of Sciences and a full-time professor, as well as involvement in student admissions and performance monitoring in engineering programs. Luisa's career also includes a practical internship at Volkswagen de Mexico, implementing logistical systems. Luisa holds a Master’s degree in Energy Administration and Renewable Sources and an Engineer’s degree in Industrial Engineering, both from Tecnológico de Monterrey.

Established in 1967 by community members seeking to address an evident gap in mental health care, the Center offers quality and affordable services to persons with limited financial resources.
