Alyssa Hemingway, CPA, CGMA

Alyssa Hemingway, CPA, CGMA has an extensive work experience in various finance and accounting roles. Alyssa currently holds the position of Chief Financial Officer at Pine Tree Society since December 2022. Previously, they worked at Albin Randall & Bennett as a Senior Manager from July 2019 to February 2023 and as a Manager from August 2016 to February 2023. Before that, they worked as an Independent Consultant, providing financial management consultation services to clients in nonprofit and healthcare organizations from December 2015 to August 2016.

Alyssa has also served as the Chief Financial Officer at Linda Bean's Maine Lobster and Linda Bean's Perfect Maine from August 2014 to December 2015. Prior to that, they worked as the Regional Director of Finance and Business Development at CHE Trinity Health from October 2012 to August 2014. As the Regional Director, they focused on financial reporting, internal control structure development, accounting oversight, and cash management for nonprofit long-term care facilities.

From February 2008 to October 2012, Alyssa worked as the Chief Financial Officer at Hyde School, where they were responsible for finance, accounting, and human resource functions across two campuses and the foundation. Additionally, they managed cash flows and ensured obligations were met without accessing working capital debt.

Earlier in their career, Alyssa served as an Audit Manager in the Healthcare and Not-for-Profit Industry Group at BerryDunn from January 1996 to February 2008. During their time at BerryDunn, they managed client engagements in community agencies, behavioral health, long-term care, and higher education. Alyssa specialized in accounting for contractual arrangements with third parties, including Medicare and Medicaid, as well as state and federal grant funds.

Alyssa's work experience also includes a role as Business Manager at Ron Binette and Son Construction, Inc. from June 1994 to January 1996. While studying accounting and finance in college, they worked part-time and managed all accounting, human resource, and finance tasks for the small construction company located in Southern Maine.

Alyssa Hemingway, CPA, CGMA, has a strong educational background in accounting and finance. Alyssa attended the University of Southern Maine - School of Business from 1991 to 1995 and obtained a Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) degree in Accounting and Finance. Later, from 2012 to 2016, they pursued further education at the same institution, completing their Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree. In addition, Alyssa holds the certification of Certified Public Accountant, further enhancing their expertise in the field.
