Pedro Galvez

Pedro Galvez has a diverse work experience, starting with their role as a Software Engineer at Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority in 2009. In this position, they were responsible for analyzing, designing, coding, and testing applications using VB.NET, MS Access, and SQL databases.

Prior to that, Pedro worked at Publix Super Markets Inc. from 2006 to 2009 as a Systems Analyst/Programmer. Here, they developed, implemented, tested, and supported web-based custom applications using Visual Studio .NET and SQL Server 2000. Pedro also played a key role in developing requirements and leading the development for yearly maintenance releases.

Before joining Publix, Pedro worked at Ultra-Tech Enterprises, Inc. as a Software Engineer from 2005 to 2006. In this role, they developed, implemented, tested, and supported Windows-based custom applications using Visual Studio .NET.

Pedro's extensive work experience also includes a long tenure at AT&T from 1984 to 2004. Pedro held the position of Senior Technical Associate II and was responsible for designing, developing, coding, and testing various components using COBOL, Syncsort, DB2, and JCL. Pedro provided production support for Account Payables systems and third-tier software support for AT&T employees in the Tampa Bay area.

Through their career, Pedro has gained expertise in various programming languages, software development, and database management.

Pedro Galvez obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering from the University of South Florida, where they studied from 1980 to 1984. Prior to that, from 1976 to 1979, they attended the University of Havana in Cuba, majoring in Telecommunications.

In addition to their formal education, Pedro has obtained various certifications throughout their career. These include the "PL-300T00: Microsoft Power BI Data Analyst" certification from New Horizons Computer Learning Centers in July 2022, the "SharePoint Online Essential Training: The Basics (2020)" certification from LinkedIn in July 2022, and the "DP-900T00 Microsoft Azure Data Fundamentals" certification from New Horizons Computer Learning Centers in June 2022.

Pedro also holds certifications in project management, cybersecurity, diversity and inclusion, and SharePoint for enterprise. Pedro completed the "Project Management: Technical Projects (2016)" certification from LinkedIn in October 2021, the "Cybersecurity at Work" certification from LinkedIn in August 2021, and the "Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging" certification from LinkedIn in December 2020. Furthermore, they completed the "SharePoint for Enterprise: Site Owners" certification from LinkedIn in November 2020.
