Zi Lian has a diverse work experience in the field of journalism and business development. Zi began their career as a Practice TV Program Editor at China Education Television in 2009. In 2012, they worked as a Reporter and Editor at China Economic Daily before transitioning to a role as a Volunteer at OneOC (formerly Volunteer Center Orange County). In 2013, Zi Lian interned at Bay Area Council, where they assisted in various projects related to global initiatives and business collaborations. Zi then joined China Daily USA in 2014 as a News Reporter, focusing on China-US relations. In 2015, Zi Lian became a Writer at PingWest before being promoted to the position of Editorial & Business Development Director of PingWest (US Office) in February 2018.
Zi Lian completed a Bachelor's Degree in Communications from East China Normal University, from 2007 to 2011. Later, from 2011 to 2012, Zi pursued a Master of Arts (MA) in social science at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. To further enhance their education, Zi then pursued a Master of Public Policy from UC Irvine, specializing in public policy, from 2012 to 2014.
