David Allen

David Allen serves as the regional president for Pinnacle Financial Partners’ Southwest Virginia region. Before Pinnacle’s acquisition of BNC Bancorp in 2017, he managed BNC’s commercial and consumer banking initiatives in Southwest Virginia.

A native of High Point, NC, Allen has a 20-year banking career that began at Wachovia Bank. His diverse financial services background includes roles in retail banking, commercial real estate, wealth management and commercial banking.

Allen is a graduate of St. Andrews University and earned a master’s degree from Yale University. He is a graduate of the North Carolina School of Banking and the Stonier Graduate School of Banking. Allen was an adjunct professor with High Point University from 1999 – 2006 and taught various ethics courses in the evening degree program.

He currently serves on the Total Action for Progress Board, Center in the Square Board and Restoration Housing Board. Allen has served on numerous non-profit boards in the Greensboro market and is currently the treasurer for the Guilford County Coalition on Infant Mortality. He has served as a loaned executive with the United Way, volunteered with Communities in Schools and worked with Junior Achievement. Allen is a graduate of Leadership Greensboro and Leadership High Point. He is the former board chair of Leadership Greensboro and also served as the inaugural board chair of the North Carolina Young Bankers, a division of the North Carolina Banker’s Association.
