Soam Acharya

Soam Acharya is a Principal Engineer at Pinterest, actively involved in building the next generation Big Data and ML platform, Moka, while collaborating with various teams to ensure data privacy and security. Previously, Soam served as a Chief Development Architect at SAP, formulating multi-cloud strategies and acting as Product Owner for the Data Science Workbench. As Head of Application Engineering at Altiscale, Soam led a team focused on performance optimization and integration of open-source tools. Additional roles include Chief Scientist at Limelight Networks, where Soam spearheaded the migration of a video management platform, and Chief Scientist at Delve Networks, contributing to the development of a video management system. Soam's earlier experience includes positions at Yahoo, LookSmart, Inktomi Corporation, and serving as a Research Assistant at Cornell University. Soam holds a PhD and MS in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University and bachelor's degrees in Computer Science and Electrical and Computer Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin.
