Karl-Martin Karlson has a diverse range of work experience in the IT industry. Karl-Martin started their career at Telegrupp AS as a System Engineer in April 2014 and worked there until March 2017. After that, they transitioned to the role of System Architect at the same company, which gave him comprehensive experience in working with products from different vendors. In April 2018, Karl-Martin joined Pipedrive as a Monitoring Engineer and stayed in this role until October 2020. Karl-Martin then progressed to the position of Senior Observability Platform Engineer, where they contributed to the development of the observability platform. In September 2021, Karl-Martin became the Observability Platform Engineering Team Lead, overseeing the team responsible for the platform's engineering. Currently, they hold the position of Infrastructure Team Lead at Pipedrive, showcasing their leadership skills and expertise in managing infrastructure projects.

Karl-Martin Karlson began their education in 2000 at Pelgulinna Günaasium, where they completed their secondary education. In 2012, they enrolled in the Estonian Information Technology College and pursued a Bachelor's degree in Network and System Administration/Administrator, which they successfully completed in 2015.

In addition to their formal education, Karl-Martin Karlson obtained several certifications to enhance their knowledge and skills. In 2014, they earned the Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification from Cisco. In 2016, they obtained the Certified Wireless Network Administrator certification from CWNP. In 2017, they achieved the HP ASE - FlexNetwork Architect V2 certification from Hewlett Packard Enterprise. Finally, in 2018, Karl-Martin Karlson obtained the VMware VCP6.5-DCV certification from VMware.
