Matthew Nelli has held three positions in the field of chemistry. From 2013 to 2016, they were an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the Chemistry Department of The College of William and Mary. In this role, they completed the total synthesis of Peramine, an insect anti-feeding natural product produced by endophytic fungi residing in cool season grasses. From 2016 to 2022, they were a Graduate Research and Teaching Assistant at the Chemistry Department of the University of Utah. Finally, they are currently a Senior Scientist I at Pipeline Therapeutics.
Matthew Nelli completed their Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry from William & Mary in 2016. Matthew then went on to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Chemistry from the University of Utah, which they are expected to complete in 2022.
