Rachel Preston

Rachel Preston is a highly experienced Senior Materials & Process Engineer currently working at Piper Aircraft since May 2022, where responsibilities include supporting operations with material review board authority and approving engineering documents. Prior to this, Rachel held significant roles at GE Aviation as a Technical Leader in Materials & Process Engineering, where development of materials for thrust reversers took place, and at United Space Alliance, where Rachel established technical specifications for the Shuttle program and mentored junior engineers. Additionally, experience includes serving as a Process Engineer and Lab Supervisor at Norsk Hydro, and as an Advanced Metallurgist at Special Metals, contributing to process improvement in various metallurgical applications. Rachel holds a Bachelor's Degree in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Florida.
