John Barnidge

John Barnidge is a seasoned finance professional with extensive experience in equity research and institutional sales. At Piper Sandler since January 2020, John has served as Managing Director, where notable achievements include developing strategies that significantly increased the revenue of the life insurance equity research business and doubling the coverage across the insurance sector. Prior experience includes a decade at Sandler O'Neill + Partners, L.P., where John held multiple roles, culminating in Managing Director. Additionally, experience at Seymour Pierce involved establishing joint ventures with prominent investment banks, and earlier roles included positions at A.G. Edwards & Sons and Citi, focusing on institutional sales and trading. John holds a Bachelor's degree in Accounting and Finance from Santa Clara University, with study periods at Imperial College London and City University of Hong Kong.
