Robert Rinek

Robert Rinek is a seasoned finance professional with extensive experience in investment banking and financial institutions. Currently serving as Managing Director of the Merchant Banking Group and a Member of the General Partner at Piper Sandler since 2008, Rinek was a founding partner of the Piper Sandler Merchant Banking Fund I and II, L.P. Prior to this, Rinek was Managing Director and Global Group Head of Financial Institutions at Piper Jaffray from 1982 to 2007, where Rinek established the Financial Institutions Group. Rinek began their career at Northern Trust Corporation and held a position at ITT Financial Corporation before advancing through various roles at Piper Jaffray. Rinek holds an MBA in Finance from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a Bachelor's degree with a double major in Economics and History from Denison University.
