Thomas Lodwick is an experienced attorney with a diverse legal background, currently serving at Pisgah Legal Services since March 2018. Prior to this role, Lodwick was an Associate Attorney at the Southern Environmental Law Center from September 2015 to March 2018 and gained significant judicial experience as a Staff Attorney for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit from September 2014 to August 2015, as well as a Judicial Law Clerk for the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of North Carolina from September 2013 to September 2014. Earlier in the career, Lodwick contributed to community development as a Peace Corps Volunteer from August 2007 to October 2009. Academic qualifications include a Juris Doctor from The George Washington University Law School (2010-2013) and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Environmental Studies from Northeastern University (2003-2007).

Our Mission: To pursue justice by providing legal assistance and advocacy to help low-income people in Western North Carolina meet their basic needs and improve their lives. What We Do: Pisgah Legal Services is an innovative, responsive nonprofit law firm founded in 1978 that: - provides free civil legal aid to very low-income people; - helps more than 9,200 of the most vulnerable people in our communities annually to meet urgent needs; - partners with dozens of other agencies to make sustainable change for people in crisis; - coordinates the pro bono services of more than 280 area attorneys; - improves systems and policies that impact the lives of thousands of low-income people. PLS' primary service area includes six counties: Buncombe, Henderson, Madison, Polk, Rutherford, and Transylvania Counties. We provide limited services in a total of seventeen Western North Carolina counties.
