Melissa D Knight

Melissa D Knight, M. Ed, PHR, currently serves as the Human Resources Director for Pitkin County since August 2021, bringing comprehensive leadership to the Human Resources and Risk Management Department. Prior roles at Pitkin County include Deputy Director of Human Resources and Talent Management Partner, where expertise in talent acquisition and retention for approximately 300 employees was demonstrated through innovative strategies such as recruitment video development. Previous experience includes Human Resource Manager positions at Crocs, Inc. and Rosenfield Restaurants, overseeing significant employee bases and budgets, as well as earlier roles as a Human Resource Generalist and Recruiting Coordinator. Knight holds a Master of Education in Organizational Performance and Change from Colorado State University and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology/Spanish from the University of Vermont, alongside leadership training from Roaring Fork Leadership.
