Anya Sharma is currently a Biomedical Data Science Researcher at Keck Graduate Institute, focusing on deep learning and protein language models for novel viral protein discovery. Anya also serves as President of the Pomona South Asian Mentorship Program, leading initiatives for incoming freshmen at the Claremont Colleges. In addition, Anya is a Teaching Assistant for Intro to Computer Science at Pitzer College and previously worked as a Machine Learning Engineer at P-ai, utilizing various machine learning algorithms, and as a Machine Learning Intern at Accolade, Inc., where contributions included AI ethics and fairness analysis. Earlier experiences include internships in clinical research, online content moderation, and research on micronutrient interventions in oncology. Anya has also conducted research on intrinsically disordered proteins in collaboration with a professor at the W.M. Keck Science Department.
