Julie Ripplinger, PhD has a varied work experience. Julie began their career in 2009 as a Data Analyst at the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS). In 2010, they joined Arizona State University as a Postdoctoral Research Associate, Lab Practicum Instructor, Research Assistant, and National Science Foundation STEM Education Fellow. In 2016, they moved to the University of California, Riverside as a Lecturer and Postdoctoral Scholar. In 2018, they took a position as a Lecturer at Riverside City College. In 2020, they returned to Pivigo as an S2DS (Science-to-Data-Science) Fellow. In 2021, they are back at Pivigo as a Data Scientist. In 2019, they took a planned career break and moved from the USA to Scotland, where they retrained to work in data science, focusing on predictive modelling, geospatial analytics, and data visualisation in R and Python.
Julie Ripplinger holds a PhD in Quantitative Urban Ecology from Arizona State University, which they obtained in 2015. Julie also holds an MS in Landscape Ecology from Utah State University, which they obtained in 2009. Additionally, they hold a certification from Pivigo Limited, which they obtained in November 2020.
