Amy Rainey

Director, Strategic Communications & Integration at Pivotal Ventures

Amy Rainey has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and companies. Amy is currently the Director of Strategic Communications & Integration at Pivotal Ventures, a position they have held since March 2022. Prior to this, they were the Director of Digital Communications from January 2020 to March 2022 and the Senior Manager of Digital Communications from January 2019 to January 2020 at the same company. Amy's earlier roles include a Producer internship at KUOW Public Radio from June 2009 to November 2009, where they produced segments and managed social media presence. Amy also worked as a Reporter/Web Producer at The Charlotte Observer from October 2006 to October 2008, covering education and managing social media accounts. Earlier in their career, they had internships as an Editorial Assistant at Chicago magazine from May 2006 to September 2006 and as a Reporter at The Chronicle of Higher Education from January 2006 to May 2006.

Amy Rainey obtained a Bachelor of Journalism degree with a focus on News-editorial from the University of Missouri-Columbia, where they attended from 2002 to 2005. Following this, they pursued a Master of Communication in Digital Media from the University of Washington's Communication Leadership program from 2009 to 2010. In 2016, they obtained a certification in Content Strategy Beyond the Screen from the University of Washington.
