Don Bui

Don Bui is an experienced Lighting Technical Lead at Pixar Animation Studios since July 2007, where notable contributions include setting up Katana lighting files for Toy Story 4 and developing python scripts to enhance efficiency in lighting workflows. With a robust background in technical direction on prominent films such as Incredibles 2 and Coco, Don has also served as a liaison for lighting tools, ensuring alignment with technological advancements. Prior experience includes leading lighting at Sonder Animated Short, where a post-animation lighting and rendering pipeline was developed, and an internship at EightVFX, which involved creating production tracking software. Don holds a Bachelor of Science in Information and Computer Science and a Minor in Digital Arts from UC Irvine and Texas A&M University, respectively.
