James Macanufo has over 20 years of work experience in various roles. James began their career in 2000 as an Infographics Intern at Newsweek. In 2001, they took on the roles of Art Director and Graphics Editor at American City Business Journals. From 2004 to 2010, they worked as a Consultant and Concept Developer at XPLANE, and then as a Director of Consulting and Senior Consultant from 2010 to 2011. From 2011 to 2012, they were the Director of Visual Thinking Practice at Dachis Group. During this time, they were also a Co-Founder at Signal Workshop and a Freelance Facilitation and Concept Developer for himself. In 2012, they became a Visiting Lecturer in Interaction Design at Washington University in St. Louis. From 2017 to 2019, they were the Creative Director at Pixel Press Technology, LLC, and they are currently an Adjunct Professor in Game Design at Webster University.
James Macanufo attended the University of Missouri-Columbia from 1996 to 2000, where they earned a degree in Journalism, News-Editorial. James also attended Washington University in St. Louis from 1996 to 1997 as an undergraduate.
