Matthew Fotzler has a diverse work experience in the field of software engineering. Matthew started their career as a Teaching Assistant at Parkland College from September 2005 to May 2009. Following that, they interned at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign from June 2010 to May 2011, where they worked on the Photran project, implementing refactorings and developing a VPG for Fortran source code.

Matthew then worked as a Software Engineer at Accuraty Solutions, LLC from May 2011 to December 2011, where they focused on desktop and web development using the Microsoft stack and worked on SQL database-backed websites.

In 2012, Matthew joined Radius CSG, Inc. as a Software Engineer, specializing in desktop and web development. Here, they primarily worked on developing SQL database-backed web applications and a WPF application for Surface tablets that interfaced with hardware over a serial connection.

In 2013, they joined Codagami, Inc. as a Software Developer, where they worked on web applications utilizing AngularJS, ASP.NET MVC, ASP.NET WebAPI, EntityFramework, and SQL Server.

Matthew then joined Pixo in September 2015 as a Software Developer and later became a Software Engineering Manager. Matthew worked on various projects involving software control of hardware, database-backed web applications, native mobile apps, and map visualization using OpenLayers. Matthew also gained expertise in utilizing AWS services like EC2, RDS, S3, CloudFront, and Route53.

In April 2019, they were promoted to the role of Senior Software Engineer at Pixo, where they continued to contribute to the development of software solutions across different domains.

Matthew Fotzler earned an Associate of Science (A.S.) in Computer Science from Parkland College from 2004 to 2007. Matthew then went on to complete their Bachelor of Science degree in Math and Computer Science at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign from 2007 to 2011. Additionally, they obtained the AWS Certified Developer – Associate certification from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in June 2017 and the Microsoft Specialist: Programming in HTML5 with JavaScript and CSS3 certification from Microsoft in July 2013.
