Dean Neese has held various board and advisory roles since 2015. In 2008, they were recruited by Mead Johnson Nutrition as Vice President of Strategy and Corporate Development, where they led the team through their IPO and split-off. In 2010, they became the Chief Executive Officer of Smarterville Inc., where they developed and executed a successful exit strategy for the PE-backed edtech company. From 2011 to 2013, they were the SVP of Strategy and Corporate Development at DocuSign, where they co-led the Series E financing round and executed multiple M&A strategies. In 2016, they became the Chief Financial Officer of Shape Security, where they led cost initiatives and secured a $12 million debt facility. In 2018, they became the Chief Financial Officer of Qubole, where they secured a $30 million debt financing and prepared the company for acquisition exit. In 2020, they became the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer of Kinetica, where they executed multiple cost initiatives and led a Series B financing round. In 2021, they became the President and Chief Financial Officer of Filevine, and in 2022, they will become the Chief Financial Officer of Placer.ai.
Dean Neese completed their education history with an MBA from Harvard Business School in 1998. Prior to that, they earned an A.B. in Public and International Affairs from Princeton University in 1990. Dean began their education journey at Oak Park High School, graduating in 1986.
