Bonnie Heikens

Bonnie Heikens is an experienced mental health professional currently serving as a Mental Health Therapist at Plains Area Mental Health since 2018. In addition, Bonnie has been a Social Work Instructor at NWICC since August 2017 and is engaged as a Graduate Student at NW AEA since August 2016. Bonnie has a diverse background that includes working as a Learning Strategist at NWAEA since November 2009, a Teaching Assistant at Northwestern College from August 2014 to May 2015, and a Life Skills Coordinator at The Bridge Transitional Housing from January 2008 to November 2011. Bonnie began the professional journey in nursing at Orange City Area Health System, working as an RN from May 1993 to July 2007. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Social Work from Northwestern College, a Diploma of Nursing from St. Luke's School of Nursing Sioux City Iowa, and a Master's degree in Social Work from the University of Iowa.
