Joel Sensenig

Joel Sensenig is an experienced professional currently serving as VP Global Design Delivery at Planate Management Group since November 2024. Sensenig has been an Adjunct Faculty Member at Northwestern University's McCormick School of Engineering since January 2016. Previously, Sensenig held the role of Assistant Director Public Works for Lake County from December 2018 to November 2024 and served as Facilities Director at Christ Church Lake Forest from April 2015 to December 2018. With a distinguished career in the United States Navy, Sensenig's roles included Civil Engineer Corps, Executive Officer at Naval Facilities Engineering Command Mid-West, and various leadership positions focused on public works and engineering operations. Sensenig holds advanced degrees in Civil Engineering - Construction Management from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and Military Studies - Foreign and Operational from Marine Corps University, complementing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
