Sophia Shek is a seasoned film producer and executive director with extensive experience in the creative industry. Currently serving as Film Producer and Executive Director at Sophia Shek Ltd since April 2022, Sophia also holds the position of Executive Producer/Director at Deploy Media since September 2019, providing production and creative solutions. As a director at Planet Ally, an international NGO founded in Hong Kong, Sophia focuses on allyship and advocacy for diverse communities. With a freelance career spanning over two decades, Sophia has contributed in various roles, including producer, assistant director, and art director. Previous experience includes programming for the Hong Kong Lesbian and Gay Film Festival and producing and directing at IXII Productions Ltd. Sophia started in the industry as an animator at Centro Digital Pictures Ltd. and a production assistant at Salon Films. Sophia holds a BDes (Hons) in Animation and Electronic Media from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design, University of Dundee.

Founded in Hong Kong in 2016, and now based in Australia, our mission is to live on a planet of allies. We are a queer feminist-led international nonprofit dedicated to allyship and advocacy for people with diverse sexual orientations, gender identities and sex characteristics (SOGIESC). We believe allyship has no borders. Online, on the ground and when travelling; we stand in solidarity to hold and create safe spaces, resources and platforms that protect and empower communities and human rights defenders to advance their human rights and dignity. Our flagship international events are the: Miles of Love, LGBTIQ+ Travel Advocacy Forum Human Dignity Festival - an intersectional allyship event focused on the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
