Jon Chalfen

Senior Vice President Finance & Strategy at Planet Home Lending

Jon Chalfen, MBA, has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Jon started their career at US Trust, where they served as the Vice President of Institutional Business Management, focusing on revenue growth, expense management, and building infrastructure. Jon then joined Lehman Brothers as the Vice President of Financial Reporting & FP&A, overseeing accurate financial reporting and providing key financial information to various stakeholders.

Chalfen later transitioned to AllianceBernstein as the Vice President of Finance, where they were responsible for business planning, forecasting, and compensation analysis for the Growth, Value, and Fixed Income Investment Teams. Jon also contributed to the firm's monthly close process.

In 2012, Chalfen joined Geller & Company as part of the Bloomberg CFO Team, serving as a strategic business partner for Bloomberg's Corporate and HR organization. Jon provided financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and expense management support, helping the company identify cost drivers and propose efficiency measures.

Chalfen then moved to Seneca Mortgage as the Senior Vice President, Head of Finance Division, overseeing FP&A, cash management, accounting, and compensation and benefits. Jon played a crucial role in managing the company's financial operations as a private equity-owned firm.

In 2020, Chalfen took on the role of Executive Vice President of Strategic Operations & Finance at Kensington Vanguard National Land Services, where they provided direct oversight of finance and accounting, treasury and escrow management, compliance, and IT operations. Jon also played a key role in executing the company's strategic plan and identifying potential acquisitions and joint ventures in the Title Insurance space.

Most recently, Chalfen rejoined Planet Home Lending in 2018 as the Senior Vice President of Finance & Strategy. In this role, they helped build out the Mortgage Servicing platform and developed financial and pricing models to analyze third-party sub-servicing relationships. Jon also created client profitability metrics to assess performance.

Throughout their career, Chalfen has demonstrated strong leadership and financial expertise across various industries, including finance, mortgage, and real estate.

Jon Chalfen, MBA, has a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Business and Economics from SUNY Oneonta. Jon also holds an MBA with a concentration in Finance and Investments from the Fordham Gabelli School of Business.
