Kyle Makischuk

Design Director at Howl

Kyle Makischuk has a diverse range of work experience in the design field. Kyle is currently working as a Design Lead at Howl since 2023. Prior to that, they held the same position at Turtle from June 2022 to April 2023, where they led product design projects for various clients. Kyle was also a Judge for CSS Design Awards from September 2020 to March 2023.

Before these roles, Kyle worked at a small studio as a Design Director from July 2021 to June 2022, where they were responsible for managing client projects, leading the design team, and implementing new processes. Kyle also worked as a Senior Product Designer at the same studio from June 2020 to July 2021.

In addition to their professional experience, Kyle has contributed as a Design Mentor at George Brown College in 2022. Kyle co-founded Camp Dover, a weekly newsletter showcasing emerging creatives, from June 2019 to August 2021. Kyle also worked as a Visual Designer at autoTRADER.ca's in-house branded content agency from March 2019 to June 2020.

Earlier in their career, Kyle served as the Creative Lead at ArtVenture, an art startup, from March 2018 to May 2019. Kyle also worked as a Graphic Designer at McGill University Athletics and Recreation from September 2017 to January 2018, and as a Food Runner at Lee Restaurant in 2016.

Kyle Makischuk completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art History and Economics at McGill University from 2014 to 2018.
