Berend de Jong

Berend de Jong is a seasoned professional in the fields of insurance, finance, and technology strategy, currently serving as the Global Insurance & Finance Lead at Planet since January 2022. Previously, Berend held prominent roles at VanderSat, including Director Insurance & Banking and Chief Commercial Officer, where responsibilities encompassed supporting clients globally with high-resolution satellite data and driving commercial growth. Prior experience includes leadership positions at Accenture, overseeing IT Strategy for the global insurance sector and steering the Accenture Strategy practice in the Netherlands. Berend also served as Industry Lead for Financial Services at Gartner Consulting and held academic roles, including university lecturer on IT Policy and Governance. Berend holds advanced degrees in Technology & Human Affairs from Washington University in St. Louis and Information Management from Tilburg University.
