Christina Paton is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in data engineering and geospatial software. Currently serving as Tech Lead for Data Pipeline at Planet since February 2022, Christina manages the technical development of the data pipeline for the PlanetScope satellite fleet, providing mentorship and making critical architectural decisions. Previous roles include Senior Geospatial Software Engineer and Data Engineering Team Lead at Fraym, where Christina led teams in building scalable machine learning pipelines and automated satellite imagery processing systems. Christina's background also encompasses work as a Senior Data Scientist, contributing to significant projects for organizations like the African Development Bank and USAID, including conflict prediction methodologies. Christina holds a Master’s degree in Environmental Science and Policy from Columbia University and a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science and Viola Performance from Northwestern University.
