Colin Parker

Colin Parker is an Electrical Engineer with extensive experience in various sectors, including aerospace, consumer electronics, and research. Currently employed at Planet since August 2021, Colin specializes in electrical design for small satellite avionics systems, focusing on commercial-grade reliability and collaborative designs. Prior to this role, Colin was with August Home Inc. from October 2016 to June 2021, leading the PCBA design for IoT smart locks and overseeing compliance testing. Earlier experiences include roles at Mason Target Systems, Vu1 Corporation, and the Santa Cruz Institute for Particle Physics, where Colin contributed to hardware development, energy-efficient lighting solutions, and semiconductor tracking devices for particle experiments. Colin holds a Master of Science in Physics and a Bachelor of Science in Applied Physics, both from the University of California, Santa Cruz.
