Giovanni Marchisio

Giovanni Marchisio is an experienced professional in the fields of analytics, geophysics, and product development, currently serving as Vice President of Analytics and Planet Fellow at Planet since March 2018. Prior to this role, Giovanni held the position of Director of Product Development and Labs at DigitalGlobe from 2009 to March 2018, where efforts focused on AI and computer vision. Giovanni's extensive experience at Insightful Corporation (1996-2008) includes roles from Vice President and CTO to Principal Scientist, where responsibilities encompassed defining product vision, managing key customer relationships, and leading significant research projects. Earlier career roles include Project Manager at Active Voice, Senior Staff Geophysicist at Halliburton, and various positions in academic and research settings. Giovanni holds a Ph.D. in Geophysics and Planetary Physics from UC San Diego and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Engineering from The University of British Columbia.
