Deborah Farrington

Ms Farrington is a co-founder and managing partner of StarVest Partners, L.P., a New York City based venture capital firm that invests in software, data & analytics and business services. Founded in 1998, StarVest has invested in many leading software-as-a-service and internet marketing companies, including NetSuite (NYSE: N), where Ms Farrington was lead director and chairman of the Compensation Committee until its sale in November 2016 to Oracle for $9.3 billon, Veracode sold to CA Technologies, Fieldglass sold to Madison Dearborn and then to SAP for $1 billion, iCrossing sold to Hearst, MessageOne sold to Dell, Insurance.com sold to QuinStreet and Iron Solutions sold to Trimble. Ms. Farrington has over 30 years of private equity and venture investing, finance and operating experience. Prior to founding StarVest, Ms. Farrington held positions including: President and CEO of Victory Ventures, LLC, a New York-based private equity investment firm where she also served as chairman of Staffing Resources, Inc.; and Managing Director of Asian Oceanic Group, a Hong Kong-based merchant bank.

Earlier in her career she held management positions spanning international and domestic investment banking and securities analysis with Merrill Lynch & Co. based in New York, Hong Kong and Tokyo, and was an officer with The Chase Manhattan Bank. On behalf of StarVest, Ms. Farrington currently sits on the Boards of CrowdTwist, Snag-a-Job, Take the Interview and Xignite. She is also a director and chairman of the Compensation Committee of Collectors Universe, Inc. (NASDAQ: CLCT). She has been named multiple times to the Forbes Midas 100 List of top venture capitalists in the United States. She is a graduate of Smith College, where she is a Trustee, and holds an MBA from Harvard Business School, where she is a member of the Dean’s Visiting Committee.
