Edna Banderas Weitzmann

Edna Banderas Weitzmann serves as a Senior Youth Advocate at Planned Parenthood Mar Monte since August 2015, leading training sessions and workshops that foster supportive learning environments for adults and teens using trauma-informed approaches. In addition to this role, Edna is a Teen Mental Health First Aid Trainer and facilitates the LiFT program, which engages teens and their supportive adults in meaningful conversations about family values and relationships. As a Teen Council Facilitator, Edna empowers high school students to become educators on key topics like reproductive care and healthy relationships. Previous experience includes roles as a Health Educator, Volunteer Behavior Therapist at Therapeutic Learning Consultants, and Peer Educator at Peer Health Exchange, focusing on sexual health education for underserved communities. Edna holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from San Francisco State University and an Associate's Degree from Foothill College.
